Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Signly ("we", "us") provides the Signly browser extension and the website signly.store. You can reach us any time at support@signly.store.
2. What the extension stores — on your device only
- Your signatures, initials, stamps and photos — saved as images in your browser's local extension storage (
chrome.storage.local). They are never transmitted to us or anyone else. - Settings and daily usage counters (e.g. free-tier placements used today) — stored in
chrome.storage.sync, which your own browser may sync between your devices through your browser account. That sync happens inside your browser vendor's infrastructure; it does not pass through our servers. - Background removal runs entirely on your device. The photo you upload is processed locally and is not sent anywhere.
- Documents you sign (web pages, PDFs, images) are processed in your browser tab and saved by your browser's normal download feature. We never receive them.
3. What we never collect
- No accounts, passwords, or profiles.
- No analytics, advertising identifiers, or tracking pixels — in the extension or on this website.
- No browsing history, page contents, keystrokes, or documents.
- No sale or sharing of personal data with third parties for marketing. Ever.
4. Pro purchases and license keys
If you upgrade to Signly Pro, checkout and billing are operated by Polar Software, Inc. (polar.sh) acting as our merchant of record. Polar collects the information needed to process your purchase — such as your email address, billing country, and payment details. We never see or store your card details. See Polar's privacy policy.
- Our checkout server receives your chosen plan and, if you provide it, your email, solely to create the Polar checkout session.
- When you activate Pro, the extension sends only your license key to Polar's validation service to confirm it's active. Your signatures and documents are never included.
- Purchase records (email, license key, subscription status) are retained by Polar for as long as required for billing, tax and legal purposes.
5. This website
- Hosting: signly.store is hosted on Vercel, which processes standard server logs (such as your IP address) to deliver the site. See Vercel's privacy policy.
- Fonts: we load the Inter typeface from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests the font files from Google. See Google's privacy policy.
- Videos on this site are hosted by us — no YouTube or third-party players.
- Cookies: this website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking. (This section serves as our cookie policy.)
6. Extension permissions, explained
| Permission | Why Signly needs it |
|---|---|
storage | Save your signatures and settings on your device. |
activeTab / scripting | Show the signature overlay on the page you're signing, when you trigger it. |
downloads | Save your signed PDF or image through the browser's download dialog. |
contextMenus | Provide the right-click "Place Signature Here" menu. |
| Host access | Let the overlay work on any page or PDF you choose to sign. Signly only acts when you invoke it; it does not read or report page content. |
7. Data retention and deletion
- Delete any saved signature from the extension's Saved tab at any time.
- Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored Signly data from that browser.
- To request deletion of purchase records, contact us or Polar; note that invoices may be retained where tax law requires it.
8. Children
Signly is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on this website.
